SAS (voorheen "Statistical Analysis System") is een statistische softwaresuite ontwikkeld door SAS Institute voor gegevensbeheer, geavanceerde analyse, multivariate analyse, bedrijfsinformatie, strafrechtelijk onderzoek en voorspellende analyse.
SAS is ontwikkeld aan de North Carolina State University van 1966 tot 1976, toen SAS Institute werd opgericht. SAS werd in de jaren tachtig en negentig verder ontwikkeld met de toevoeging van nieuwe statistische procedures, aanvullende componenten en de introductie van JMP. In versie 9 werd in 2004 een interface met aanwijzen en klikken toegevoegd. In 2010 werd een analyseproduct voor sociale media toegevoegd.
