Wat is Salsadansen ?
Salsa is een Latijnse dans die wordt geassocieerd met het gelijknamige muziekgenre dat populair werd in de Verenigde Staten halverwege de 20e eeuw in New York City. [1] [2] [3] Salsa is een samensmelting van Cubaanse dansen die populair waren in de balzalen en nachtclubs van Havana en New York City en tegen het einde van de jaren vijftig (bijv. "Casino", mambo en pachanga), evenals Amerikaanse jazzdansen. Het waren voornamelijk ontwikkelde Puerto Ricanen en Cubanen die eind jaren zestig en begin jaren zeventig in New York woonden. [4] Verschillende regio's in Latijns-Amerika en de Verenigde Staten (inclusief landen in het Caribisch gebied) hebben hun eigen verschillende salsa-stijlen, zoals Cubaanse, Puerto Ricaanse, Colombiaanse en "New Yorkse stijlen". Salsa-dansbijeenkomsten worden vaak gehouden in nachtclubs, bars, balzalen, restaurants en daarbuiten, vooral als onderdeel van een openluchtfestival.
In veel stijlen van salsadansen, als een danser zijn gewicht verschuift door in het midden te stappen om een gewicht van 50/50 te hebben, blijft het bovenlichaam horizontaal en wordt het bijna niet beïnvloed door de gewichtsveranderingen. de beweging draait in een acht om de heupen te laten bewegen. Arm- en schouderbewegingen zijn ook verwerkt. Het tempo van Salsa varieert van ongeveer 150 bpm (slagen per minuut) tot ongeveer 250 bpm, hoewel de meeste dans wordt gedaan op muziek ergens tussen de 160 en 220 bpm. Het basis Salsa dansritme bestaat uit het nemen van drie stappen voor elke vier beats muziek. Het oneven aantal stappen creëert de syncope die inherent is aan salsadansen en zorgt ervoor dat er acht beats muziek nodig zijn om terug te gaan naar een nieuwe reeks stappen.
