Wat is AutoCAD ?
AutoCAD is een computer-aided design (CAD) -programma dat wordt gebruikt voor 2-D en 3-D ontwerp en opstellen. AutoCAD is ontwikkeld en op de markt gebracht door Autodesk Inc. en was een van de eerste CAD-programma's die op pc's kon worden uitgevoerd.
AutoCAD is in eerste instantie afgeleid van een programma genaamd Interact, dat in een eigen taal is geschreven. De eerste release van de software gebruikte alleen primitieve entiteiten zoals polygonen, cirkels, lijnen, bogen en tekst om complexe objecten te construeren. Later kwam het om aangepaste objecten te ondersteunen via een programmeerinterface van de C ++ -applicatie. De moderne versie van de software bevat een volledige set hulpmiddelen voor solide modellering en 3D. AutoCAD ondersteunt ook tal van applicatieprogramma-interfaces voor automatisering en aanpassing.
DWG (tekening) is het native bestandsformaat voor AutoCAD en een basisstandaard voor interoperabiliteit van CAD-gegevens. De software biedt ook ondersteuning voor Design Web Format (DWF), een door Autodesk ontwikkeld formaat voor het publiceren van CAD-gegevens.
