Toch kan het moeilijk zijn om de beste huurprijs te bepalen, want als je teveel rekent, jaag je huurders weg, en als je te weinig rekent, laat je geld op tafel liggen. Een gebruikelijke strategie is om voldoende huur in rekening te brengen om de kosten te dekken totdat de hypotheek is betaald, waarna het grootste deel van de huur winst wordt.
De andere primaire manier waarop huisbazen geld verdienen, is door waardering. Als uw eigendom in waarde stijgt, kunt u het misschien met winst verkopen (als de tijd daar is) of lenen tegen het eigen vermogen om uw volgende investering te doen.
