CAN Stands for Controller Area Network Protocol, which is widely used in automotive industry for the communication between ECUs (Electronic Control Unit) in the vehicle. CAN protocol is also used for vehicle diagnostics in service stations and also in EOL (End Of the Line) during vehicle manufacture. It is also used for OBD (On Board Diagnostics) by which vehicle inspector can check for emission norms of the vehicle and its related information using OBD tool.
