Wat is een BIM-modelleur?
Een BIM-modelleur is iemand die ontwerp-, teken-, berekenings- en selectiewerkzaamheden verricht ten behoeve van het samenstellen, beheren en ontwikkelen van een BIM-informatiemodel.
Wat is BIM?
BIM staat voor Building Information Model (ook wel Bouwwerk Informatie Model) en verwijst naar een 3D-informatiemodel waarin alle data die nodig is voor het ontwerpen, bouwen en beheren van bouwwerken wordt vastgelegd en aan elkaar gekoppeld. Tot deze gegevens behoren bijvoorbeeld berekeningen, bouwtekeningen, verslagen en rapporten. Doordat alle relevante informatie in het model voorhanden is, kan het model geraadpleegd worden door alle betrokkenen, zoals architecten, aannemers, opdrachtgevers en installateurs. Bovendien beschikken alle betrokkenen op deze manier over dezelfde informatie.
Binnen een BIM-systeem werken verschillende programma’s samen, die elk specialistische bewerkingen kunnen uitvoeren, zoals EPC-berekeningen (energieprestatiecoëfficiënt) en constructieberekeningen. Om uitwisseling en samenwerking tussen deze verschillende programma’s mogelijk te maken, zijn er verschillende ‘open’ uitwisselingsstandaarden ontwikkeld:
- IFD: International Framework for Dictionaries
- IFC: Industry Foundation Classes
- IDM: Information Delivery Manual
Wat doet een BIM-modelleur?
De taken van BIM-modelleurs zijn over het algemeen de volgende:
- Ontwerpen en berekenen van elektrotechnische, werktuigbouwkundige, meet- en regeltechnische of andere gebouwgebonden installaties
- Selecteren en plaatsen van componenten van de installatie
- Beoordelen van het programma van eisen (PvE), het bestek en/of de begroting
- Documenteren van de installatie in het BIM-systeem
- Moduleren van nieuwe producten in het BIM-systeem
- Toetsen van modellen op kwaliteit, toepasbaarheid en haalbaarheid
- Verrichten van tests, zoals ‘interference checks’ en ‘clash controls’
- Archiveren van gegevens en bestanden
- Onderhouden van contacten met onder meer collega’s, opdrachtgevers, ontwerpers en leveranciers
BIM-modelleurs maken gebruik van verschillende softwaretoepassingen, zoals:
- Revit MEP
- Revit Architecture
- Revit Structure
- AutoCAD
Waar werken BIM-modelleurs?
BIM-modelleurs zijn over het algemeen werkzaam bij bedrijven in de bouw, werktuigbouwkunde, elektrotechniek, meet- en regeltechniek, utiliteitsbouw, grond-, weg en waterbouw (GWW) en civiele bouw. Ook in andere bouw- of techniekgerelateerde takken kunnen BIM-modelleurs werkzaam zijn. Collega’s met wie ze te maken hebben zijn bijvoorbeeld BIM-coördinators, architecten, aannemers, installateurs, CAD-tekenaars, bouwkundig tekenaars en constructeurs.
