Wat is Matlab ?
MATLAB is een krachtige taal voor technisch computergebruik. Het integreert berekening, visualisatie en programmeren in een gebruiksvriendelijke omgeving waar problemen en oplossingen worden uitgedrukt in vertrouwde wiskundige notatie. Typische toepassingen zijn onder meer:

MATLAB is een interactief systeem waarvan het basisgegevenselement een array is waarvoor geen dimensionering vereist is. Hierdoor kunt u veel technische computerproblemen oplossen, vooral die met matrix- en vectorformuleringen, in een fractie van de tijd die nodig is om een programma te schrijven in een scalaire niet-interactieve taal zoals C of Fortran.
De naam MATLAB staat voor matrixlaboratorium. MATLAB is oorspronkelijk geschreven om gemakkelijke toegang te bieden tot matrixsoftware die is ontwikkeld door de projecten LINPACK en EISPACK, die samen de allernieuwste software voor matrixberekening vertegenwoordigen.
